Friday Lunch Conversation: Learn About Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) (Recording Available Post-Event)
Fri, Jul 10
|The Birch Center
New research is revealing that once pain becomes chronic, the brain develops neural pathways that predict and perpetuate it. The good news: the brain can unlearn this pattern. Join us for a FREE introductory workshop led by Hannah Strom, certified PRT practitioner.

About the event
Come learn about Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)! PRT can help clients reduce or eliminate chronic pain and symptoms. How does this work? Well, more research is coming out about “neuroplastic" pain and symptoms. Once pain becomes chronic (lasting longer than 3-6 months), our brain and nervous system get used to it. We develop neural pathways that predict pain and interpret safe sensations as pain.
By using somatic techniques and gently going towards the pain with curiosity, our brain learns that these sensations are safe again. Our neural pathways rewire, and the pain can reduce or completely resolve. Hannah Strom, LCSW is certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy, and she has personal experience living with and recovering from chronic pain.
Arrive at 12:00 for light lunch and time to connect with colleagues. The presentation will begin at 12:15 PM. If you are attending online, join the video between 12:00 and 12:15.
